Mihoko Ogaki’s Star Tales and Milky Ways

Even though Mihoko Ogaki‘s artwork explores mainly existential topics such as life, birth, and rebirth,  one can’t help but feel also awe, amazement, joy, and reverence at the great beauty, the wonder,  the sublimity that is the Universe.

In her, ongoing since 2010 and currently at Galerie Voss, Düsseldorf , exhibition, Star Tales, Ogaki deals with the metaphysical; the ontological; the cosmic. Star Tales consists of a white floating installation of 5 parts,

In her series of figurative art scupltures installation ,  Milky Ways, Ogaki turns sculptures of  decaying bodies into images of the wondrous night sky.

The dead or dying human forms are made of fibre-reinforced plastic and embedded with bright LEDs that, when lit, project fields of light, resembling stars in the surrounding space.

Milky Ways consists of an installation of drawings
